Warriors Coach Steve Kerr Offers Latest on Draymond Green’s Injury, Team Outlook Amid Absences
Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr provided an update Wednesday on the status of veteran forward Draymond Green, offering clarity on his injury situation and the team’s expectations as Golden State navigates a pivotal stretch of the season. Green, a four-time All-Star and cornerstone of the Warriors’ championship-contending identity, missed Tuesday’s game and remains day-to-day as the Warriors manage his recovery.
Green was ruled out of the Warriors’ matchup against the Miami Heat with an ankle issue, marking another setback in a season increasingly disrupted by injuries to key players. Kerr emphasized that the team is being cautious in how it handles Green’s return, noting that the Warriors want him fully ready before re-entering competition rather than rushing him back prematurely.
“We are evaluating him day-to-day,” Kerr said. “There’s no fixed timeline, and it’s important we get him back at full strength. He’s a unique player for us — his defense, energy and basketball IQ make a huge difference on both ends of the floor.”
The Warriors are back in action on Tuesday in the second night of a back-to-back set.
